AUDITION NOTICE

Come and audition for our upcoming fall production of  "Dearly Beloved" a southern wedding comedy. Authors are Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten. Dearly Beloved is the story of a completely dysfunctional but loving Texas family in the throes of a series of life changing events.

...The Futrelle Sisters, Frankie, Honey Raye and Twink, are throwing a wedding. Frankie has almost made herself sick with elaborate preparations for her daughter Tina Jo’s antebellum-inspired wedding, and the rumor mill in their small town of Fayro, Texas, is working overtime.
In spite of her own marital problems, Frankie has held steadfastly to the hope that she can pull off one “final Futrelle occasion” with elegance and style with the help of the cantankerous wedding coordinator, Miss Geneva, who runs the local floral shop/bus depot.
When the prodigal Honey Raye arrives at the church in skintight gold lamé, consumed by hot flashes and a steely determination to right old family wrongs, Frankie’s hope is shaken. It is lost completely when word reaches the church that Tina Jo and her fiancé have fled Fayro and eloped.
The sisters ultimately pull together to find ways to keep the unsuspecting guests in the pews while a highway patrolman races off to track down the runaway bride and groom. As a last resort, and to the delight of the citizenry of Fayro, Texas, The Sermonettes reunite and sing again.

Auditions will be held August 24 and 25 at 7PM at the New Richmond American Legion Hall.  Call backs will August 31. We are looking for 4 men, 7 women, all ages 20-60.  All will be asked to read from the script and sing a few bars from a song of their choice--this is NOT a musical, but a little bit of music is part of the show.  Those auditioning should also bring a list of conflicts they may have during the rehearsal period.

Seven performances will be given October 15-17 and 22 & 23.

We are a nonprofit organization supporting adult and family involvement in the dramatic arts. Our organization focuses on achieving participation in all aspects of various productions; raising monies as needed to fund the participation; and supporting "in need" families and individuals relative to that area of dramatic art.

Since our beginning in 1996, WRP has been a community theater group located in New Richmond, Wisconsin with members from a greater area ranging north to Balsam Lake and south to Hudson, WI. We are an entirely volunteer organization with no paid staff. WRP brings music and theater lovers from the St. Croix Valley together on two fronts. First, we have the "players" and supporters of the organization. This is the group of individuals who produce and perform the plays and musical events. Second are the audiences who come from the St. Croix Community to view the productions. WRP offers productions to a wide audience in a variety of indoor and outdoor venues including theaters, festivals, fairs, public buildings, events, and parades.

WRP supports two intertwined areas of interest. One area emphasizes theater, including acting, set construction, direction, lights, sounds, etc. The other's focus is music, including singing, instruments, and support of musical theater. The areas do not represent separate groups; they represent points of interest for WRP members and as such they routinely work together to deliver productions to our audiences.
